Monthly Meals for St. Joseph's House

Just down the street from our home is the largest shelter for the homeless in our region.  For many decades we have engaged in the mitzvah of feeding the hungry in our midst by providing a meal for the shelter on the second Sunday of the month.

Please consider volunteering if you never have before. If you aren't a cook or baker, you can provide salad, rolls, or bring desserts already made. You may drop off on Saturday if Sunday doesn't work for you.  Please make sure you mention that you are from Cape Cod Synagogue, and this is for the Sunday dinner.

It is greatly appreciated by St. Joseph's House to receive our wonderful homemade meals.  Thank you to those who sign up each month and for those new people as well. What a great mitzvah!

Thanks for all the wonderful volunteers we have, it's so rewarding to see so many people willing to help out every month for the shelter.

May, June, July & August are available for sign up. A lot of people are busy in the summer so if you want to get a "jump" on volunteering, please do so.

Mitzvah Day - Sunday, May 18th

We still need volunteers to help that day!
There is the Barnstable Land Trust in West Barnstable that welcomes people of all ages to help clear the path behind their main office and other assorted help needed.

We are collecting toiletries for two of the Women's Shelters: Independence House and Safe Harbor.

Needed items are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, combs, lotion, sanitary napkins and tampax, tissues, paper towels, soap, dental floss, sunscreen, etc.

We are also collecting diapers for The Baby Center in Hyannis, any size is appreciated.

There are two boxes in the lobby for donations of diapers for the Baby Center and toiletries for two Hyannis women's shelters.

Join up for the annual Cape Cod Synagogue Mitzvah Day of service to
others.  Many different opportunities to help!
