Monthly Meals for St. Joseph's House

Just down the street from our home is the largest shelter for the homeless in our region. For many decades we have engaged in the mitzvah of feeding the hungry in our midst by providing a meal for the shelter on the second Sunday of the month.
Please consider volunteering if you never have before. If you aren't a cook or baker, you can provide salad, rolls, or bring desserts already made. You may drop off on Saturday if Sunday doesn't work for you. Please make sure you mention that you are from Cape Cod Synagogue, and this is for the Sunday dinner.
It is greatly appreciated by St. Joseph's House to receive our wonderful homemade meals. Thank you to those who sign up each month and for those new people as well. What a great mitzvah!
Thanks for all the wonderful volunteers we have, it's so rewarding to see so many people willing to help out every month for the shelter.
January still has places for volunteers and and February is available for sign up.

Social Action/Justice Efforts
Judaism is a religion of mitzvah, or sacred action, focused on our sacred obligations to care for on another and to seek justice for the downtrodden, the disadvantaged and the persecuted. In a wide variety of ways, our community is engaged in efforts to act in partnership with God in repairing the world through our sacred acts of caring - tikkun olam.
Please look on this page to see the scope of our community involvement and to take part in our efforts. Do you have a project you would like to lead? Please let us know how you can help us do more! Contact our chairperson, Wendy Lavenda-Carroll.
