2:00 PM - 4:00 PMCCSThe Wandering Jew: A Personal Sephardic Journey Through History and Identity
Presenter: Rafi Chaprut
Our long-time synagogue member will share his captivating journey as a Sephardic Jew, beginning with the history of the Jews' expulsion from Spain, their migration across the Ottoman Empire, and his own noteworthy Sephardic lineage. He will recount his experiences growing up as a Jew in Muslim Turkey, making Aliyah to Israel as a university student, and later moving to the U.S. with his young family, settling on Cape Cod and building a life over the past 35 years. His story is a profound narrative of resilience, adaptation, and identity as a true "Wandering Jew."
Join us in this enlightening afternoon. No charge. Synagogue membership is not required.
Please bring a dessert or fruit to share. Beverages will be provided.
